Why couldn’t it be so?

An Al Qaeda leader was on trial yesterday in Spain for his part in planning the 9/11 attacks. The prosecution was seeking 74,000 years (a life sentence for each of the 2,973 lives his planning took), but a panel of judges overruled that and gave him just 27 instead.
